This sketchpad has 40 sheets inside with a smooth, white finish and a 90gsm rating. It does feel like a good quality printer paper, if that's a positive, but unfortunately it doesn't feel at all like art paper for sketching. It certainly doesn't feel like the 'premium' paper described. It's too thin and lacks any texture, meaning it's best suited to simple pencil drawings. The cover also lacks support for the pad and ours hasn't laid flat since received as the edges were bent/curled. I ordered this with my high school aged art student in mind, but it's really not up to scratch and has been passed to his 10 year old brother for making comics and doodling. If you're looking for a drawing pad for a primary aged child, where the finish isn't that important, then this may be okay for your planned purpose and they'll likely think it's a pad of nice quality paper. However, I can't imagine anyone who is more seriously into their art would consider this as an option when looking for a new pad and for the price you should be able to pick up something that is more up to the job.

For the price of£4.99 this is great value. It's affordable but also good quality paper to do your drawing on. My kids absolutely love drawing but in the likes of most shops something like this your looking at more expensive than this price. The paper is not overly thick but it by no means thin and flimsy, for me I feel its the perfect thickness. The texture is good which makes it easy to draw on. The size make it easy to fit in your bag along with all your other books if your studying, there is no need to carry it around separately or in a large bag of it's own. I would definitely get another.

This is a spiral bound sketchbook, A4 Size, by AL KAHF. You get 40 plain white sheets, each supposedly 90gsm. Unfortunately this doesn’t come in a wrapper of any kind, it’s just the sketch book. It was packed in a large box with other items and was a bit of a mess when it arrived. I’ve tried my best to flatten in out before taking pictures but the ends are a bit bashed up and there are various dents that ruin the inner pages, which is a real shame. The paper itself is probably decent enough for basic sketches but in my opinion it’s more of a rough draft book. The paper isn’t the sort of quality I’d want to rip out to keep. It’s apparently 90GSM but actually feels pretty thin to me. For pencil sketches it should be fine, but it’s not quite the quality I’d anticipated compared to other sketch pads I’ve had in the past. The price is reasonable enough (on offer at £3.95 at the time of writing) but I wouldn’t pay any more for it. I’d want to have this in its own box to avoid the potential for damage and I do wish the product came with a wrapper of some kind to help protect it. All in all, I can’t help but be disappointed. It’s not the quality I’d anticipated and lack of wrapping resulted in damage that makes it unusable for anything but scrap paper. If it arrives in okay condition then it’s probably fine for a rough sketch pad.
